Beautique is a customer relationship management web application that connects beauty freelancers, maybe similar to a friend or family member who just started a nail tech business at their house, to customers - those seeking out small beauty artists.

Beautique

the challenge.

Create a website that works for a two sided market. One that recognizes the problems that beauty freelancers face in trying to build their businesses. And that also allows those same beauty freelancers to be easily found without the algorithms on social media that push them to the backseat.

the results.

Our website solves the challenges of beauty freelancers by allowing them to list services at low costs, compared to other services where you have to pay if you want to be seen. They can add boosts and promotions to attract customers in their area, and keep track of appointments. It fulfills our mission to create a place where beauty freelancers can list their services, connecting directly with clients for seamless discovery.

Ideating: My team and I brainstormed a start up by trying to figure out problems that people face in their every day lives. From looking at the people in our lives, we decided to target the pain points of beauty freelancers.

Research & Analysis: I conducted user interviews, surveys, and desk research to understand the pain points and user needs. I also studied competitor apps, like StyleSeat, and their reviews to gather insights.

Wireframing & Prototyping: I designed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the new layout and navigation, iteratively refining them based on user feedback. Afterward, I built a high-fidelity, interactive prototype to test the design.

Usability Testing: I conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design.

Visual Design & Style Guide: We developed a cohesive visual language, including color schemes, typography, and iconography, ensuring consistency throughout the website. We also created a style guide to maintain design consistency after the MVP.

The Beautique CRM web application design successfully addressed the problems of beauty freelancers, and their customers. This results in easier marketing, and more of a user-friendly approach to marketing their brand.

the conclusion.
